Industrial Engineering & Management

Department

Industrial Engineering is the combination of Engineering plus Business Administration. In this MODERN AGE, Industrial Engineering is the main tool of success that helps boost up production with quality assurance.Industrial Engineering is about making the best use of available resources ( man, money, machine, material & methods) to:

a) Increase the PRODUCTIVITY
b) Improve the QUALITY
c) Lower the COST
d) Assure safety of Personnal & MACHINES.
e) Create and maintain good WORKINGENVIRONMENT to improve efficiency.

Industrial Engineer applies engineering methods and production plans to produce more efficient & effective human machine systems. Industrial Engineer makes production lines more efficient, analyse people, objects flow through system and design work stations that reduce employees fatigue and accidents. Industrial Engineer coordinates the systems & processes multifaceted operations to ensure the most efficient flow at an optimum cost.

Courses offered during first two years (four terms) of study are Mathematics, Business English, Engineering Drawing with AutoCAD, Computer Applications in Business and Engineering subjects which are closely related to Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing and Instrumentation and control. During the 3rd and final year they study courses oriented towards Industrial and Management coupled with socio economic aspects.

The Laboratories of Fluid mechanics, Thermodynamics, Materials & Processes, Computer, Engineering Mechanics and theory of machine provide fundamental engineering concepts whereas CAD/CAM; Non traditional machining, Work and Method study, Instrumentation and Control provide advanced knowledge of operational research and modern production techniques.

The Department keeps a close laison with the local Industry and internships, industrial tours, seminars and defence of theses are the regular features for the students. Faculty is headed by an experienced and qualified researcher.
